in excellent condition. Surprisingly the working end isn't who recovered this one from 11/2 ON-HOLD rd
"chewed-up" like most pressure flaking tools are. an ancient site in San Luis
Obispo County, California

A - A nicely polished birdbone ornamental tube. Many of these were hair Ex: Michael Hough

C - A highly polished bone Awl showing roughness to the base where it was
most likely press-fitted into some sort of wooden handle - 45.00
D - A very nice, highly polished bone Awl in just perfect condition - 45.00

A - A nicely polished bone Awl showing "smoothed over" ancient usage
wear marks, but "all there" - 40.00
B - A very long and slender polished bone Awl which has a spider bite to
it's working tip - 40.00
C - A short (for type) bi-pointed polished bone Hair Pin (most likely for an
adolescent's use) in perfect condition - 40.00
D - A very highly polished bone Awl having "smoothed over" ancient usage
wear marks, but "all there" - 40.00
E - A nicely polished bone Awl having the natural bone internal patterns on
one face. This one is "all there" - 30.00

MHBT1572 An EXTREMELY LARGE Whale Tooth which was most   Recovered from 120.00
likely fashioned for use as a pressure flaking tool. It has slight an ancient site in
usage wear marks to the tip and a fairly ragged base where it Humboldt Bay, CA
was most likely mounted into a wooden handle. There is
ancient loss of some surface layers along a single edge,
shown in photo 4. Quite an interesting and very scarce item. Ex: Michael Hough

a bit on the ragged side with a long vertical crack down an ancient site in
it's center from aging. This one was shellacked over for Humboldt Bay, CA

MHBT1576 A nice medium-sized Elk Antler Wedge which shows ancient Recovered from 200.00
usage wear at both ends, but essentially "all there" as it was an ancient site in
anciently used. A fairly scarce item which has a thin layer of Humboldt Bay, CA
shellack to act as a preservative, applied by the finder Ex: Michael Hough

VAPN1 An EXTREMELY RARE offering of a gorgeous blue-gray flint Provenance for this rare offering is 3900.00
Knife blade in it's original ancient bone handle. The bone handle unfortunately undocumented but judging  12/16 ON-HOLD ma
has ancient surface chipping but is 98% "all there" as it was used  from the materials comprising this museum
in ancient times. The stone knife blade itself is pristine, thoroughly piece, I would bet my bottom dollar that 
flaked on both faces with no damage. Quite a rare and unique it's from the Pacific Northwest, most likely
museum quality specimen, who's equal we've never seen. Alaska. It has an interesting little story
about how it (re-) arrived in the United

VAPN3 A very unusual, seldom seen for sale polished bone Net Gauge Provenance for this piece is unfortunately 350.00
having a triple-drilled handle. I examined the "open hole" undocumented but judging from the material, I
microscopically and can't really tell if the third (bottom) hole was would bet my bottom dollar that it's from the
left "open" intentionally, by design, or if this was anciently nicked. Pacific Northwest, most likely Alaska. It has an

Stick handle in excellent condition, although a Columbia River
former owner applied a mixture of Acetone and in Oregon
Duco Cement to preserve it's structural integrity,
a practice which even archaeologists use with
most bone and shell artifacts. This is a very
scarce item, seldom offered for sale anywhere.

Whalebone wedge. It's a tad bit ragged on the ends Coast in N. Oregon
from the battering it sustained while doing it's job in
ancient times, which is typical. It was treated with a 
mixture of Acetone and Duco Cement to preserve it's
structural integrity, a practice which even
archaeologists use with most bone and shell artifacts.
