Perishables Page

Here I am proud to offer the
RAREST OF THE RARE
Ancient native American Indian artifacts, which are called "Perishables"...
the perishable items are so named because they consist of goods made by the
ancient native Amerinds for clothing, footwear and other items used for everyday existence,
(which we often take for granted... there were NO Florsheim shoe stores in
those days) from materials which normally decay over a short period of time.
Perishables are normally ONLY found intact in caves, where the atmosphere of
the cave environment contributed GREATLY to their preservation.
"Perishables" as a collective group include items made from plant fibers,
animal hides and wood. |

EXTREMELY RARE BOW -
probably Arapaho. |
Huerfano county,

SOLD |
A 49" long wood bow.
This bow was found in a rock |
Colorado |
shelter. One end of the bow was stuck in the rocks
just inside the entrance into a rock overhang. The other |
end was laying on the ground about 4 feet away. The
bow string ends were facing each other. It looked as if |
someone stepped into the shelter, stuck one end of the
bow into the rocks, fell forward breaking the bow, and
left it where it fell. The grip end of the part which was
laying on the ground was covered with blow sand and
4/3 |
is partially rotted |
